245t Warm-up Power Issues 200 1983

My 245t starts fine when its cold out, but until it warms up. 5 mins or so. when asked to accelerate, the car balks and hestitates. It smells like its running very rich, but I haven't proved that yet. I have replaced the coolant temp sensor and checked the CSI system, and that is all in working order. I think that the problem may lie in the control pressure regulator (or so my Bentley would have me to believe) anyone ever had this problem before. I'd rather not start swapping out parts just hoping it will work.
