missing,skipping,sputtering 240 200 1982

I have a 1982 240 that ran fine last night when I parked it. Then this morning I attempted to start it and It died immediately. I tried again and kept my foot on the gas, It would stay running this time but only if I kept my foot on the gas, And even then It would skip bad and backfire through the air cleaner. If I took my foot off the gas it would stall out and wouldnt start again for 30 minutes or so. It has good spark plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. The only problem I know of is a crack in the distributer (on the surface were thecap screws to).
I can't figure out what could have happened overnight because it ran so perfect the night before. The fuel pump is working and it is a 240gl with mechanical fuel injection. Any help would be appreciated thanks.
