C cam vs. Street Torque cam? 120-130

Hey there,

I'm hoping for some input from anyone with experience with cam options.

I'm planning the rebuild of the "sport safety" motor which will replace my current B18. Planning on keeping the SU's.

The idea is to do the "fun city driver" thing. I've found a 1970 B20 with an extra F head to work over. Will involve head work, etc.

I want the power/torque to be in street driving range. Really don't want to be racing the engine down neghborhoods and having the soccer mom's grabbing their children and cell phones simultaneously.

I've had one experienced builder suggest the stock C cam over the IPD Street Torque. Thought was that the IPD cam doesn't like to spin much over 4000 and the power is very peaky at 3000.

I'm not much interested in 6K but 4K does seem low.

Anyone have comments or suggestion?

Thanks,

Mario E.
