Steering Rack on 940 900 1993

A quick question if anyone can help:

When I turn my steering wheel right or left vigourously I can hear a load clonk
On inspection under the vehicle, I can actually move the input shaft to the steering rack back and forth and it makes the same clonk. There are no leacks from the rack. Just wondering if there is any adjustment on these steering racks to tighten it up to remove this play. I had the same problem on a VW, and you just turned an adjustment to cure this kind of problem, but the rack on my 940 has no obvious nut/adjuster. Is it hidden somewhere where you can't see it. If there isn't one, do I need a new rack?

Thanks for your advice...
Nick
