Front Clunking Solved! 200

Front clunking finally solved!! (I hope)

It was a combination of loose strut tube nuts and the rear bushing brackets. The rear bushing nut was loose, which over time beat on the bracket. Compounding the problem, the local mechanic I took the bushings too had torched and beat them senseless, until the bracket was slightly out of round, allowing bushing movement.

Hmmm, I must really get a new mechanic, but nobody works as cheap as me. Well, I'm learning, and thanks to you all on the board. I guess the bottom line here is be careful to get what you pay for when you want your bushings pressed, AND, double check the nuts for tighness a day or two after all the work is done.

Good Luck.

Tom
