1990 200 series DIESEL ....

I am looking at a 1990 244 or 264 Diesel Automatic ..... I have driven VW Diesels and maintained them so the fact that it is a diesel isn't a problem ... except for the performance aspect ..... this car came from Georgia and is essentially rust free ... The engine appears to be a 6 cylinder ... the car is stored in a dark garage so didn't get a really good look at it as I would before I consider laying out some cash .... what can anyone tell me about this engine /drivetrain combination? What are these cars selling for ? Are there any known problems with this model ?
