Vacuum Line 200 1989

Hey guys I have an '89 240DL with 183k miles on it,

The vaccuum line that runs from my engine into the cabin keeps on cracking and loosing the seal causing the airpassage flaps (floor, defrost, recirc) to go somewhat crazy.

I've tried splicing the line a couple times and it keeps on cracking. Any ideas? (every time resulting in a bleeding finger... damn that tube is tough to cut)

How tough is it to run a new line through the firewall *using the previous line as a guide*? Or is there a way i can recondition the line?

Thanks for any info/help.

-Tim
