740T Sputters Badly When Accelerating. 700

I have a 1985 740T that is literaly driving me nuts with various noise problems in the tranny, but now this: When I step on the gas, it will first pick up power then temporarily die as though it did not receive any gas. I have to let off the gas for the engine to reengage and then I can slowly get it to the turbo range. Once in the turbo range then it picks up with the turbo hisses like mad. The intermittent lapse of power is always when I am trying to accelerate. I've changed alot of things, but still the same. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
