orientation of the bushing on ext housing (tranny output shaft) 200 1990

Does anyone know the orientation of the bushing that sits on the extension housing ( tranny output shaft).

a) I called the volvo dealer ship , they says it goes on top but does not matter.

b)The FAQ says it goes anyway, but should not be lined up with the grove on the housing.

c)When I removed mine, the hole was lined up with the groove ?

Any one know for sure? Randy, any ideas ?
I though with the hole lined up with the groove, the oil would flow into the bushing and allow lubrication.

thanks
