NO dash warning lights! 200 1986

I had the alternator out of my wife's '86 240 for a reason unrelated to a failed alternator.

I replaced a faulty alt. ground while I was at it.

Now, when I turn the key to II, I get no warning lights at all. The car starts and runns off the battery, but the alternator is not putting out. Voltage is 12v, which I assume is battery voltage.

What did I overlook? I've got to get this car working today!
