Water Pump Leaking 700 1992

I replaced my water pump this past weekend and I've noticed a very small amount of coolant on the middle rib on the bottom of it. I can't find any leaks around the gasket or either of the o-rings that I mated up (top of pump and water return line).

I'm thinking that maybe the leak is coming from the front of the shaft. When I first put things back together, the belt was too tight and the pulley was really whining. I loosened it up and its very quiet now, but it may still be a little too tight. Anyone ever experienced this? Any other ideas on where this could be coming from?

Thanks for any help.
