Turbo Intake Hose Question 700

So there's this nasty hole in my turbo hose (the one from the AMM to the turbo inlet). Its making the car run lean, not a good thing when you're running 1 bar. Duct tape worked for about a week. Now I have to bite the bullet, and purchase a new hose. Price quotes from around the internet have been anywhere from $140.28 (GAPA), to $178.13 (Revolvstore). Neither of these am I willing to pay. My question is, do I really need that little plug heading towards my wiring harness that connects the oil breather tube to the intake, or can I just get a custom hose made w/o that? Will I have any engine problems if I just tuck that wire away somewhere, and consequently dump the oil breather tube down to the pavement? A similar hose at my local Tractor Supply Co. is around $20. Some fabrication/hack work would be more than worth my while ($150, actually).

Thanks for your help.
