Horrible running after DIY head gasket job 200 1983

The saga continues. Two months ago, my car ran great. Then the head gasket blew. It ran good even with the blown head gasket. Started right away, idled fine, just blew a little steam.

Then I changed the head and gasket out. I haven't been able to get it to run right since. New head gasket. Everything torqued to spec. Timing perfect. Car absolutely will not start on its own.

It WILL start if I pull the air hose off the top of the fuel distributor sensor plate and lift the sensor plate (with fuel pumps jumpered) so as to force fuel into the engine, then floor it while cranking. When I do this, I'll crank it for 10 seconds or so, it'll sputter a couple times then start up. Once running, it will run indefinitely so long as I keep my foot on the gas.

It will not idle at all. Letting go of the gas kills it immediately. It also will not exceed 4,000 revs when floored (neutral, not in gear) no matter what I do, regardless of ignition timing. It runs extremely poorly under load. If I put it in drive, with the pedal floored, it barely goes, and won't top 10mph. If I give it less than full throttle in drive, it will die immediately. Once it dies, it will not restart no matter how long I crank it, regardless of it being cold or fully warmed up. It will only restart if I go through the lifting the airflow sensor plate business again.

BTW just before I stopped working on it, the lifting the airflow sensor plate trick stopped working, now the injectors don't spray at all, and I can't hear the fuel distributor working.

Thanks to anyone who can help me on this. I appreciate it.
