P1800 Restoration 1800

Greetings folks,
I have some questions regarding your thread on a restore and rust. I have a 66 1800 that my wife wants me to restore for her. I generally build 4X4 fords for fun so this will be my first volvo, although I do drive an 84 turbo that I've got going real fast.

I have had the car sitting in my garage for a couple of years now after purchasing for a couple hundred bucks. Little did I know back then about the P1800.

I've checked the Suspension, Sway bars, floor bottoms, and several other critical areas for rust. Although there is a good amount of surface rust everything is solid. There is a problem in the rear fender bottom where I sand blasted a little to look and found a spot where it was rusted through. Also the Jack points under the car are severly rusted through.

I plan on cutting the jack points out and replacing them with steel beams. As for the rear fender I'm not sure yet.
What do you all think?? Is there anybody that sells body sheet metal for the car??

I have most of the parts collected over the last two years including the motor etc. I have about 6K I could put into this car now more as needed later on.
Should I buy a newer car? Like one with AC?

Here is what I was planning to do:
Complete sand blast (Plastic bead) $400
Prime and paint: $1000 (from a friend who has a shop)
Finish motor: $1000 (Includes head work and B20 Bore))
New interior (Seats, carpet, doors, headliner etc.) original specs $1500 (from a friend)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I can send some picks for better opinions if anyone is interested.

Can we post them here somewhere??

Thanks in advance!
Phil
