940 - A couple funny noises 900 1993

Have a '93 940 Turbo - just did a LOAD of work to it - and after starting it up for the first time, I noticed a couple of noises not there before:

1. Right as the ignition is turned on and before starting, there is a sound kind of like a vacuum just for maybe 1 second, then stops. Then you can hear it when the car is turned off after running, and again, only hearing it for about 1 sec. It sounds like it's coming from under the car, but I couldn't pinpoint it.

2. Can't hear this one when in the car, only with the hood up - a faint and fast ticking noise coming from around the general area of the camshaft. I'm guessing this one is obvious, but I'm kind of a newbie to auto work (I usually stick to PC's and Laser printers :^)

Thanks much in advance - this forum is a lifesaver!!!!!

Steve
