k cam for 86 240dL-will it work? 200 1986

It should work fine as the distributor is in the block. It does sap low end power noticeably below 2,000 revs, but the high end kick is nice, especially with a higher flowing exhaust to take the most advantage in high rev situations. When you buy the shims to adjust the valve clearance properly, do NOT buy from Volvo. They are over $6 (used shims too!)for EACH ONE. A great cheap place I found for shims is www.bimmerparts.com They have lots of stuff for Volvos. The shims from there are like 1.40 each. Huge difference in price.
