Brain teaser 700

It started about 2 months ago. Every once and while the engine would momentarily
cut out. Not long enough to kill it just enough to make it stumble.
This would only happen when idling and stopped. I couldn't find the problem so I took preventative measures. Total tune up new plugs,rotor,cap,wires Aircleaner. AMM and timing checked and reset. Still had a intermitant problem. Cleaned the TB and the problem seemed to vanish for the last month. It's Back. Last night I came to a red light and the car died. What was weird was when I cranked the engine. The tach BOUNCED between 0 and 3000 rpm. When I say bounced it was violently bouncing. The car restarted and I haven't had the problem today. What do you think? I replace the Harness about 60K ago, radio and fuel relays were replaced about 2yrs ago, the Halls and ignition amplifier replaced about 3 yrs ago or 80K-100K ago. 87 B230FT 254,000 miles
