Finally!
After sitting for 2 yrs! I've managed to restart the beast! -now i have to put everything<--literally back together--thank the gods its a volvo

Turned out it was the ignition amplifier-

READ THIS

I think it's also been called the ignition control unit or power stage.

now if I could only have some help with the vacumn lines on a butchered (not by me) k-jet..I've got the left most nipple on the intake manifold open with no apparent lines to plugin and a nipple under the manifold -where the throttle switch should be:
..there is a solenoid on the firewall that has a vacumn line from the distributor and another that is not plugged in anywhere...the schematic on the car tells me nothing..the bentley 83-93 tells me nothing..the haynes tells me nothing ...my mostly incomplete set of volvo manuals tells me nothing ..the archives are making my brain mush
