How do you remove the aux electric cooling fan's blade component? 700

Can't get the blasted plastic fan blade component to come off the motor. I remove the bolt and took teh whole thing apart, but have still been unable to get it off.

There's a pin that sits in the middle on the center rod between the fan blade and the motor (like a fan in your house) that slides a little, but the plastic fan coupling appears to be open above this and I don't think it actually holds the fan blade one.

Is it just stuck or rusted onto the rod? I want to be sure before I really try and work it of teh rod with a screwdriver and some force... don'tneed to be breaking the thing.

Any help is appreciated.
