Easiest V8 conversion? 200 1984

I currently own an '84 245 DL that was given to my by my parents when I got my licence 3 years ago (19 years old). I've kept the car in the best condition possible, there is only a few tiny spots of surface rust around the wheels which are getting grinded down at the end of the month. I really like the car, but I've started customizing it more and more lately and I really want to do an engine swap now. I work in a shop, but I have only a limited knowledge of mechanics. I've never done anything this big before, replacing a radiator is more a long the lines. Since this is my first project like this, what V8 would be the easiest to drop into my car? I'm leaning towards a ford 302 right now since I've heard they drop in without any pounding or cutting and the tranny fits in perfectly. Now, I know there are going to be many out there that would like to tell me that chevy is better than ford and vise vesa, but please spare me that as I am not doing this for outright performace or durrability. I'm doing this for the satisfaction and expirence (I actually hate american V8s altogether normally...).

Now, before we go any further, I have another problem... The engine in my car right now is a B21A conected to a 3 speed auto w/o overdrive... No fuel injection. Now you can see another reason why I want to do this swap. There's no way I'm going to be able to put a fuel injected engine in, way too hard. I could always take the injectors out of a newer V8 and slap on a carb though. Anyway, what's the best way to go at this one? Thaks for the help.
