245T starting poor and massive bucking while driving 200

my 83 245t has been super dependible until today. today it began to buck and jerk when i tried to accelerate. The car had warmed up like normal, started like normal, but it would act like the fuel was just cut off, then it would surge forward, then stop, then surge forward. This happened twice today. It ran fine for a 5 minute trip, then after work it wouldn't start. When i turned the key to the "ignition" spot, the fuel pump ran like normal, but it sounded like it was spraying. I checked under the car,and nothing was leaking at all. it took multiple attempts, each time the fuel pump sounded like it was spraying all over, but no leaks. The car then started and idled fine, but at the slightest hint of acceleration it started bucking again and surging. I crawled home, and when i stopped in my driveway i could hear an audible whine from the fuel pump.. the culprit???? anyways. any help would be great. I've checked all my plugs, wires, ect.... they seem fine, so the noises made me think of the main fuel pump. thanks!
