M-46

How does ATF work better? One overdrive has over 250K and it still works like its new and its never been touched and that's with 30W. I just replaced the 1-2 syncro hub as its 'C' retainer broke and the pieces tore up the mating surface between the hub and first gear. First gear was also replaced. Now that I've had a good look at the inside of a M-46 with lots of miles and 30W I'd like to know what one looks like with the same miles and ATF. Have you torn any apart?

This is a good time to change to ATF as the unit will drain setting on end, otherwise your supposed to remove the valves above the overdrive oil filter to drain the OD if it's still in the car.

Have you seen the inside of any high mileage M-46's with ATF or refer me to someone who has.

TIA
