And you would want to make sure the donor axle has the same speedo drive gear as your axle if you swap the whole axle. I think they changed around 88 or 89. Or you could remove the diff and put it into your rear, but this could be a bit of labor to do and it might be cheaper to swap the whole axle depending on what you pay for the axle. With the axle swap, there is the possibility of newer/lower mileage parking brakes, newer/lower mileage rear wheel bearings, and maybe even newer/lower mileage bushings on attached suspension parts (if any are left attached).
