fuel filters as PS and ATF filters? 700

So I got a cheapo $1.99 fuel filter from Autozone and put it on my windshield washer line to keep the nozzles from clogging. That flows fine.

But is it safe to use a cheapo fuel filter on the PS return line as well as the ATF return line?

I'm worried about possible resistance to flow issues. Washer fluid is okay since it's not thick and flows like gasoline. But PS and ATF fluids are thicker types of oil, and I don't want it to be restricted by the filter.

If this is an issue, I might just have to shell out some $$ for the Magnafine magnetic filters, but it'll have to wait till I save up a tiny bit.

Also, I've been told that to keep the intake clean, I might want to place a tiny fuel filter in the breather hose that comes out of the top of my flame trap, which will prevent the throttle body and intake from getting crudded up so easily. Any one have any input on this?

Thanks.
