trouble removing elec. fan blade from unit... help! 700

1985 745t

Brickers:

I pull my electric fan and am currently attempting an opverhaul. However, I have run into a snag... I can't get the damned fan blade off the motor to give myself enough room to clean the magnetized plates!

I've shot the thing with multiple doses of PB, have tries to gently pry it up witha large screwdriver betweeen the plate and the fan component, allto no effect. I'm becoming convinced that teh blade is held in place somehow. I removed the nut from the front side but is there something else? Did the early designs incoproate some locking component later designs lacked?

It looks just like a fan in your house, so I have to imagine the blade "should" slide off once you remove the holding nut... so why won't mine?!? I'm going nuts here and really want to finish this stupid thing and put it back in the car. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rick
