Runaway 164 140-160

Hi all,
Well I had trans. sercice done to my '69 164 automatic. I went to pick , and it up yesterday and got in while it was idling "normally", put it in drive, and it took off at full throttle! I had to lock up the brakes to keep from smashing into another parked car (1 foot to spare). Thank you, Volvo brakes!
Question: What in the transmission could cause this to happen? (I also had carb work done, unsatisfactorilly, I might add (CO at 8.8, running way too rich).
The trans work done was:
1)replace both cross shaft seals
2)replace front and rear trans. seals
3)replace speedometer drive seal
4)replace oil pan gasket
5)replace front and rear engine crank seals
A transmission tech I called suggested I check something called the "tv dent cable" that runs from the transmission to the carbs. Can anybody help me out here?
