Rear end sag 900 1993

I am second owner of a '93 965 with 131K. Recently noticed rear end slightly lower than front end, and have been reading how shocks and springs are probably due for replacement. Have also read that Nivomat shocks were OEM for the 965. Took a look at my shocks and they don't appear to be Nivos (no accordian lower half). After market shop manual no help, and local Volvo dealer doesn't know, either (good grief!!!)...If I go ahead and buy Nivos, and don't replace springs, will they be OK with any type of spring? Or is it best just to do both??? Thanxxx...
