Think to replace the Transmission assembly 700 1989

I am thinking to change the Transmission of my 740 GLE (1989). It is a manual with OD. Would it be possible to retrofit it with an Automatic Transmission? Can somebody help me with this? What parts do I need to change? How to do it? Is this a Can-do-it Yourself? Please Help!
