Prepping an m46 for replacement 200 1983

Hi guys,
Ive just recently brought home an m46 man tranny and was wondering what kind of repairs I should do to this box before I install it into my 242glti/b21ft.
Ive also got a b230ft with lightened fly w/clutch that I could mount the box onto and drive while I rebuild my aging b21ft.This motor is sitting in the garage.
What basic gearbox repairs should I make to this m46 that was out of a 1986 240?
Would you mate it up to the b230?
Thanks,
RR
