door lock aspiration 900 1991

I was wondering if anyone has heard of or know if it is at all possible to switch the tailgate lock of mine to one of the newer style where you can unlock all of the doors when you unlock the tailgate...or is mine screwed up? I can lock and unlock the tailgate from the two fronts but not vice versa(which i consider a very nice feature when you are grocery shopping and worth me experimenting with)...
just wondering

or is it just easier to get someone to put in an aftermarket remote starter and door unlocker...
