intermittent starting 200 1985

Hi! I have a 1985 245 GL, B230F, 83,000 miles. I recently encountered intermittent starting where I can't tell whether she starts right up or just sputters. When she "just sputters", it's as if the idle is set below normal idling and the engine doesn't catch. This happens randomly, whether the engine is warm or cold. I live in the tropics. Normally, she just kind of revs up to 1,200 for a second then stabilizes to a smooth 800-900 rpm idle. When she acts up though, it takes a few restarts to get her ticking then once underway, runs like a dream. I haven't cleaned the throttle body in the 2 yrs I've owned her. I havent changed the coolant temperature sensor either. Any ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance.
