'old' bushings and new tires? 200

Looking for some friendly advice.

I just bouught a 1993 240 with 142,000 on the odo. I am about to by 4 new Avid H4s based on old posts here. My qustion is, after reading the IPD catalog about 10 times (it's in the bathroom you see), should I be concerned about my suspension bushings? IPD wants me to drop $200+ to replace them all since mine are over 100k. BUT, is this really necessary. The car rides fine, no klunks or squeaks, bounces or otherwise. The bushings I do see, at least think I see, are a bit "dry" and have small minor cracking, but not deep.

IPD says old bushings are hard on tires and I'd hate to waste tread if avoidable. But, I ain't made 'o money and busings look expensive, especially considering someone else has to install most of them.

Thanks for the advice.
