Jerk in transmission/drive shaft 900

My Volvo is a 1994 940GL with 185miles. Occasionally, during heavy breaking the car jerked with a silght clunk. Recently, I had the transmission oil seals, gasket replaced due to fluid leakage. The filter was also replaced.

After tha, the jerk became more frequent. I had to break as softly as possible to prevent the jerk. Addition there's a sound and feeling like I ran over a log or something especially when the car is cold, coming from the rear.

My mechanic says that there maybe some problems with the long driveshaft and the repair done caused it to be amplified.

Is it a tranmission, U-joint, or transaxle problem?

Appreciate any comments.
