Turbo Exhaust for my non-turbo arrived today... will I regret it? 200 1993

After my muffler broke off and I coat-hangered it back together, I started thinking about exhaust replacement options. The $57-77 muffler from NAPA, etc. was one, but for $96 I could replace the entire thing from the cat back at FCP Groton. However, after a few days of driving with my semi-bypassed rear muffler, I realized I really liked the way it felt - a little less torque, yes, but noticeably more power when I squash the pedal and let it wind out each gear. Plus, the little bit of extra noise seems to make it more fun to drive... I thought I'd have outgrown that at age 35? Anyhow, rather than plunk down $169 + shipping all the way from the other coast for an IPD performance exhaust, I ordered up a stock TURBO exhaust from FCP Groton - $107 with shipping. It's sitting out on the porch now. Boy are those pipes big! I figured I'd be able to go down to the Local auto parts store and pick up some sort of adapter... or at worst get one from a muffler shop... but I'm having second thoughts... Did I make a mistake? Will I be ending up with some half-assed, poorly tuned system and be kicking myself for not having spent the extra $80-90 for the IPD system? Feedback welcomed!
