Cranking time seems twice normal before starting? 700

Hi all,

My 1990 740 wagon has 134K. I bought at 121K. Volvo did 120K service. Within the last month she cranks twice as long before ignition. What could be wrong or going wrong. I'm afraid that one day all it will do is crank and not fire. I use an independent Volvo mechanic and I like to be well informed before I bring it in. Thanks in advance.
