Freeze 12. How to apply?

I am facing the same delema with my daughter's 87 240 but have decided to stick with R12. Can be purchased at Auto Zone for 19.95 a can. The 240 has has a sight glass so I can use that to charge with the correct amount. Not sure what guage readings are correct for Freeze 12. My understanding is that Feeze 12 is considered "drop in" meaning that it is compatible with and can be mixed with R12 (but this would not be in compliance with EPA standards). Some believe that running the electric fan when AC is on will increase cooling at idle.
