yes, i got your message. I am becoming VERY familiar with this system, I can remove the TB under 3 minutes.
Did it again today, maybe 5 or 6 diff attempts. Finally midpositioned the throttle position switch (tps) and idle was then about 950 rpm. I know tps will not function at present position. However, i undid the hose that goes from the intake side of the throttle down to the idle air bypass valve, quickly stuck my palm over the end of the hose, and it was sucking like mad. So, the idle air bypass is open, regardless of position of throttle or tps!! Do you (or anyone reading this) know if there is any kind of adjustment for the bypass valve?
also, the tps has 3 pins coming out of it, pin #2, #3 and #18 (ground). the contacts between pin 2 and 18 are open until i hear the click when coming off of closed throttle position. What i am wondering, is if all the readings from the tps are either fully open (infinity) or fully closed (zero ohms), then how does the ECM know the position of the throttle?? Is there a rheostat inside the tps? Should I get some type of resistance values between fully closed and fully open? Maybe my tps is bad?
