Ongoing Ignition saga 140-160

Sixpot,
My "ignition-troubles" continued for weeks, constantly getting a barely running spark out of new ignition parts. So I did some research on pointless ignition systems. I have used Petronix products in the past to solve these poor spark problems on old VW's. WARNING--> The Petronix modules have to be matched with a recommended Ignition coil(I called their tech support line), Otherwise reliability becomes a problem (Plus warranty issues). I picked the "Crane" setup for my Volvo because it is a matched set-up, no worries, no hassles, right out of the box. It replaced the points/condesnor/and coil. I had to "Dirty" the engine-bay a little (with a custom made mount-plate-->more-so so I didn't have to drill any holes into my car to mount the main module under the hood) but the engine runs like a champ, acceleration is stronger than I ever have felt from this car. I actually broke the right motor mount on the first drive with the Crane system. So if your interested I gave two links to the best price on the net(That I have found). My volvo is a different car now and even more fun to drive. I hope these help you.. ---Eric--73/145/B20f
