Thanks for the encouragement to "just do it" to the temp. comp. board. You were right, not that hard. I re-heated the solder on the pins, scraped 'em, bent in (gently) the pin receptacles, removed the voltage reg, scraped it (just to be safe, even though fuel gauge is pretty normal), applied a little elec. grease to the comp. pins, put it back togeather and viola! My next 1hr trip the needle stayed rock solid on the dot!

Now to the fuel gauge. Is it normal in a 93 240 for the guage to fluctuate about 1/8 tank up and down as you drive. And is it "normal" for the needle to drop rather quickly, compared to the first half consumption rate, after passing the half-full mark. Just how big is that tank? 12 gal? Yes, I just got it.

Also, what's normal mpg, if in good shape mechanically. Thanks, I know lots of dumb questions, but I'm still getting to know the brick!
