How do you make a vacuum pump?

What kind of vacuum do you want to produce?

If you want small amounts of vacuum for testing vacuum accessories, You can't beat a Mity-Vac. the low-end models are under $25 at chain stores.

If you've put a wild cam in your car, and the car doesn't produce enough vacuum at idle to run the things vacuum is used for (heater flaps, brake booster), you'd need an electric vacuum pump. Available from the aftermarket at racing shops like jegs.com. Also found in the junkyard, often on diesel vehicles.
