Hey guys,
Well I know I have been asking a lot of questions in the past couple of days, but my 82 Volvo Diesel Wagon is having more than a few problems. Now, its the electrical system.
I know that the Elec Sys's on 80's Volvos is crap, but I would like to find out why a couple of things have failed in my Volvo. It seems like it has to be a single source to the problem, as I doubt all of these individual items could fail near simultaniously:
1.Radio - Wont turn on whatsoever.
2.Rear Wiper - Used to work just fine, failed w. the radio.
3.Cruise Control - Hasn't worked for years, but I still would like to find out why not.
4.I have also had problems in the past with loose fuses stopping the car from running right after it catches on during starting, meaning I'd start it and it would instantly die. All kinds of other problems with fuses not working while they are still in tact, but rolling them all around USUALLY solved these problems.
Any ideas? All of my fuses look good, and the only foreign electrical accessory I have is a CB Radio from the past owner which was hooked into the elec system behind the dash somehow, and I have yet to get around to removing it (currently have the fuse out to prevent it draining the battery accidently). The car has had no major damage, no water damage, nothing.
Thanks in advance!
Rotor
P.S. I'm not totally sure our car is an 82, as it is a Diesel "DL" wagon (the DL according to the steering wheel logo), which according to my Chilton book, could have only come in 83 or 84... could the "DL" part be wrong, or have I been mislead since I bought the beast?
