Removing 1990 Temperature Sensor. 700

I've read the FAQ and it seems that I have to destroy the temp sensor to remove it. I've tried with a 19mm wrench to no avail. Do I really have to chop the electrical head off from it and use a socket or is there a less destructive way of doing things.
