Instrument cluster voltage stabilizer...... where is it? 700 1987

All signs point to my voltage stabilizer being faulty..... anyone know where it is? Chiltons simply says to check it & doesn't list in componet locator.

Will the stabalizer from my 88 740 turbo wagon work in my 87 740 NA ?
