A/C Problems 700

Correct on all counts. Your problem is most likely a leak that reduced charge pressure and causes the compressor to fail to engage (you have a low-pressure switch). Take it to a shop, vacuum the system, and test for leaks. If you find one, repair it and convert to R134 using the Volvo kit.
