A few performance questions regarding timing, distributors and I.D. 444-544

Hello,
I have some questions regarding my Volvo 444.
I have recently upgraded to a B20 with a mild street cam and
am running a Weber carb. conversion and breakerless
ignition. My questions are:
1. My engine block is cast with the number 49, then there is a
raised area stamped 8190, then another raised area stamped 571.
Beneath this, cast in the block itself is the number 1000214.
Which block do I have? What do these numbers mean?
2. The only identification marks I can find are the cast C11 on the
head. Can you help me identify this?
3. The distributor I am running #0231146078, has a vacuum retard
unit. Is this the distributor I should be using? What distributor should
I look for?
4. Any information regarding my vehicle identification would be
appreciated.

Any of this information would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance

Kenny
