help! turns over, but no start! 1986

1) Unplug the air mass meter and then try. Plug it back in if it does not help. Only plug/unplug with the ignition off. It is a black plastic and metal box in the accordian tubing of the intake.
2) find the 25 amp fuse in the holder by the battery and clean it up. Not usually blown, just corroded or dirty.
also check its red wire to the battery for a good connection
3) Clean the in-car fuel pump fuse thoroughly
4) find the fuel pump relay above the front passengers knees (small white box)and whack it with a screw driver handle. These frequently fail to engage. Might have to replace it.
5) make sure the timing belt is not broken by observing the cam rotating with the oil filler cap off, while you crank the car.
6) fill the tank in case there is a broken hose on the fuel uptake in the tank

I can almost guarantee it is one of the above
