K&N filter? 700

People will give you a list of benefits to either option, a custom intake with a cone type filter or use the stock box and midify it. I have a cone filter on my 1990 760 and it seems to make an audible succion noise when I lift off the accelerator which is a little annoying at low speeds. I have read on turbobricks about modifying the stock airbox and am going to do it soon in hopes of stopping the noise. First of all take the box out of the car, this takes a little work and jiggling. The take out the metal piece that holds the filter, the foam, and any other worthless sound deadening in there to increase the airflow. You can then remove the horn from the intake port that goes to the fender wall to increase the inside diameter of that port. If you are looking for a ram air setup you can then cut a whole in the front of the box and put some steel piping to it run from somewhere behind the grill or bumper. Hope this helps you out.

for me: dawes device on the way... I can't wait.
