A/C dead, wet spot in the driveway?!?! 900

The vehicle:
91 945SE Automatic

Work completed:
--A/C compressor and evaporator replaced last August, system is now R134

Symptom:
--A/C compressor kicks off and on (hi/low switch indicating a sign of low/no freon?)
--Wet stain on concrete, has been there all day. I am assuming b/c outside temp was 90 degrees with full sun exposure to concrete, that this stain is oil-based.

Question:
--WTF??? What has happened to cause both the stain and the off and on compressor problem? Obviously the unit no longer cools, and my wife is headed for a mental breakdown.

Thanks!

Greg
