Washer reservoir needed..OEM or is there universal available?

OK,OK,,,I'm tired of wife's comments about not being able to see out of dirty windhield and not having a working pump/leaking reservoir on her 89 740. I've installed a used one from a U-Pick-EM but it didn't work long. Now I've found a universal reservoir/pump at local PartsGuys. Will this work? It seems crowded in the location where the OEM unit fits.
How have you all solved this problem? For the 200 series it is easy..not so for the 700 series.
Thanks for the ideas in advance.
El Raidman.
