Equalizer option for CR-815? 900 1993

I had my stereo pulled out the other day (CR-815) to fix a bad volume knob connection, and noticed that there's a plug on the back for an optional graphic equalizer, right next to the CD changer connection. Does anyone know if this thing was ever installed as an option or if there are aftermarket equalizers that will plug in? Seems to me that the only place it would fit would be in the cigarette lighter/storage box space. I'm looking to get a little more performance out of my system without replacing a perfectly good unit.
